Voltage Divider Calculator

Enter any three values and leave the fourth field empty — it will be calculated automatically.

Vout = (Vin × R2) ÷ (R1 + R2)
Fill in 3 fields, leave 1 blank, then click Calculate.

A voltage divider is a fundamental circuit used in electronics to produce a voltage output that is a fraction of the input voltage. It consists of two resistors connected in series across the input voltage, and the output voltage is taken from the connection point between the two resistors. Online Voltage Divider Calculator

Vout=Vin×(R1/R2+R2)

Where:

  • Vin is the input voltage (Vs).
  • R1 is the resistance of the first resistor.
  • R2 is the resistance of the second resistor.

The ratio R1/R2+R2 determines how much of the input voltage is dropped across the second resistor, thus determining the output voltage. By choosing appropriate resistor values, you can create different output voltage levels from a given input voltage. This principle is widely used in various electronic circuits for voltage scaling and signal conditioning purposes.
